Week 3- Doctor Visit

Yesterday we went to the doctor for a 3 week check-up. Dr. Mueller wanted to make sure Isabel was gaining weight because she got off to such a slow start. When we left the hospital she was only 5 pounds 13 ounces. However, we are happy to report that she is now weighing in at 7 pounds 9 ounces. Yeah Bell! We are proud of her. (We had to laugh though considering most babies weigh that much when they leave the hospital the first day. )
We also wanted to talk to the doctor about Isabel's reflux. She is spitting up an awful lot and appears very gassy and uncomfortable after her feedings. Unfortunately, our doctor didn't help much other than to say that since she is gaining weight and appears healthy not to be too concerned. She will outgrow it. We need to be mindful of her positioning and I am monitoring what I eat but for now that is all we can do.

Jason had a work meeting and couldn't come to the doctor but luckily my mom got off work early and was able to come with me. We had to wait a long time for our appointment but Isabel was very patient. (She did have an "accident" on the nurse though :)

So funny about the weight since mine weighed more than that at birth. =D Broderick had bad reflux, even though he was gaining, he screamed all the time. They put him on prevacid and it turned him into a different kid.
