Because of my c-section, we got an extended stay at the hospital (Thursday- Sunday). It was actually kind of nice at first because we got "baby training" from the nurses, room service, and help with the baby when we wanted to get some sleep. However, it didn't take long for us to get a bit stir-crazy and want to come home.
Unfortunately, Isabel slept the entire first day she was born- and hardly ate at all. She ended up losing more weight than the doctors wanted and was stubbornly resisting breast feeding. They also suspected she was jaundice and needed to poke her poor little feet and keep an eye on her more closely.

By day two she was a bit more active, but didn't get the hang of eating until the third day. In fact, she still enjoys sleeping more than anything else. Of course, this excessive sleeping only occurs during the day. At night she comes alive and is ready to party. Jason and I are desperately hoping that will change soon. By Sunday we were excited to bring our little one home. Both Mom and baby were feeling much better.
