What Bel has been up to...

Summer is alread FLYING by! Why is it that the winter months seem to just drag by... but if you blink summer is over? Maybe it's because winter is 8 months long in Illinois. Anyway, we have been keeping pretty busy here the last few weeks. I am taking classes and working and Isabel is being a little maniac- crazy toddler (see above) She is truly enjoying the outdoors. We have been to the parks (no zig zag slide) swimming and on walks and playdates with friends. She spends time with her various babysitters during the day- aka Grandma and Grandpa Davis and Aunt Mimi. We went for our 15 month dr. appointment yesterday and everything checked out well. She is still a giant girl- 25 lbs. and 33 inches tall- (95 percentile for height and 85 percentile for weight) She is also very active and running everywhere. Her new interests include sidewalk chalk, holding Lucky's leash when we walk, and watering the flowers. She is still not saying much- correction: She says a lot- she just doesn't say much we can understand. Her fave words include "Mommy",  "Bye", "Peas" and "Bobby". (No, we don't know anyone named Bobby. Maybe he is an invisible friend? A creepy ghost haunting our condo? All, I know is she says Bobby a lot..) Other than that, not a lot new. This child is a true toddle now. She throws mini-tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants and is super-picky about her food. No amount of dipping it in ketchup can convince her to eat meat. She is on a pretty much ALL fruit diet. One of the cutest developments now is that she is finally becoming more affectionate. She will give you "lovies" sometimes which are hugs and sloppy, open-mouth kisses. Let me tell you.. there is nothing cuter. Finally, she has become a little obsessed with watching the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on t.v. This is a new obsession. It used to be all Elmo all the time. Now we have expanded. I suppose its not good that she likes watching t.v. so much in the first place but heck - who am I kidding? We are a t.v. watching family!
