Wolves Hockey Game

Last weekend we went to see the Chicago Wolves hockey team play at all All-State Arena.

My dad is the family's biggest hockey fan but I think he is hoping that our little girl will enjoy it too. That must be why he invited her to her first game (even though she is still in the womb!)

Week 36 (almost)...

Well... here we are at Week 35 1/2. This is the latest belly pic. (Don't mind the baby mess in the background. This is pretty much standard in our house right now.) Jason and I had a fundraising event for his work this weekend. It was nice to be able to borrow a maternity dress from my friend Arian. Between all of us girls we are starting quite a collection of cute preggers clothes.

Now for the update-
Okay, so far I think I have stayed pretty positive and upbeat during my pregnancy. (Maybe Jason would disagree) But really, I haven't had that much to complain about. No real morning sickness or other complications.. I hadn't even gained as much weight as I thought I would. BUT - today I am going to complain. Please skip the next part of this blog if you don't want to hear it. These are the top 5 reasons why I am ready to be done being pregnant.

1. Heartburn - constant indigestion and acid reflux. Whether I eat or don't eat.... no amount of doctor prescribed antacid can relieve it!

2. Lack of Sleep- Just can't get comfy or stay asleep for more than three or four hours at a time.

3. Frequent Trips to the Bathroom- nuff said

4. Back Pain- Random back and hip pain. Strikes at odd times- like walking down the hallway at school or strolling through the grocery store.

5. Worry- The worrying has kicked in now. Worrying about the birth. Worrying about bringing the baby home after the birth. Worrying about when the baby is in middle school. Ugh... there is a lot you can worry about if you let yourself. Also, as of last week our darling daughter STILL has not turned from her breech position. So it is looking more and more likely that I will be having a C-section birth. We just hope that she is happy and healthy when born. Keep us in your prayers!

Finding A Place for Everything

With just about 6 weeks left, Jason and I are getting serious about finishing the nursery.
This weekend we did our best to find a spot for all of our pretty new shower gifts. Since we are limited when it comes to space it can be a challenge. Overall, we are happy with how things are turning out. Below are some pics of the room so far. We are still waiting for our glider to arrive and a few other finishing touches.

Wredling Baby Shower

On Friday my fabulous team at work threw me a baby shower in our school's library.
The food and decorations were great and Baby Girl Leppin scored lots of great gifts including many wonderful books! My adorable, 4 year old assistant Aubrie helped me open all of the gifts.
I am so lucky to work with such great friends.

Week 33

I am getting bigger and bigger! I can't believe that we only have seven more weeks to go.

I have been feeling pretty good (just really tired). The heartburn has not let up- and I don't think it will. I can handle it for a few more weeks though. What I am getting more anxious about is giving birth! In our last birth class we watched yet another enlightening movie. This time we got to see all kinds of fun things like an epidural being administered, forceps, vacuums, and other torture devices. I am wondering if there is a way to avoid labor... and surgery. I like the concept of the stork actually.
Anyway, this weekend I had two lovely baby showers (one at work and one at my mom's)
We were so spoiled. I am not even sure where we are going to put everything. Now it's time to get serious and finish the nursery, get the house in order, and prepare things at work. The countdown is on!

My Baby Shower

Today my mom, sister, cousin, and friends helped throw me a beautiful baby shower.
I can't believe how many gifts Little Girl Leppin got. Wow, she is going to be quite a fashionista.
She has more clothes than I do, that's for sure. It was so much fun to see everyone. Jason and I feel so lucky to have such great friends in our lives!

Rebellious Baby Leppin

Now my doctor's appointments have progressed from once a month to almost every two weeks. I am getting very comfortable hanging out in the waiting room, grading papers, and peeing in the cup! At my 28 week ultrasound I was told our little one was breech but she still had plenty of time to turn. At my last 32 week apt. Dr. Mueller thought she was still breech. We still have some time but she needs to get moving. I (of course) have been reading up on breech babies and am not too excited about everything that goes along with one. (c-sections, external cephalic version, increased risk of birth defects) You all know what a worrier I can be so this freaks me out! I am just continuing to pray for a happy, healthy baby.

On another note, Jason and I had our second birth class Tues. night. Next time you see him ask him about the movie we watched. It was very eye-opening! Jason's favorite part of birth class is probably "relaxation time". This consists of laying on pillows in the dark and breathing. (aka sleeping) He is a natural!

Lucky's Baby

Today Jason was working on hanging some blinds in the baby's room when he called me in to show me that Lucky had somehow jumped up on top of his crate.

Now, he is not the most agile dog so we weren't sure how or why he did this. Turns out Lucky really LOVES the stuffed bear Jason gave our baby for Christmas that is now sitting in her crib.

So much so that he has been plotting how to get at it since late December. Some of you may remember that he used to be infatuated with the "Swiffer" (yes, our duster). Turns out he has a new girlfriend. I suppose we will have to move his crate out of our girls' room soon. I'm sure she won't appreciate him jumping up into her bed unexpectedly!
