Spring Break- (literally)

It has been a while since I posted last... if you can believe it I acutally ran out of storage space on my blog. Turns out I just had to purchase some more. Only 5 dollars for a year.... but still. I had to decide if I wanted to continue this thing. I often wonder if anyone is reading it (I know Bel's grandparents do :)  but either way I decided it is nice for me to keep track of our family's adventures and important milestones...so here goes.

Speaking of adventures- or should I say misadventures.... Spring Break got even more interesting after our trip to Lake Geneva. On Wed. of that week Isabel and I went to Chicago for a playdate with some friends and Isabel had an accident. She slipped and fell on toys- landing funny on her wrist- and ended up fracturing it. At first I thought it was just a normal "boo boo" but when she kept complaining that it was bothering her I decided to take her to the ortho for Xrays. And.... of course... it was broken! One flourescent orange cast later- we were on our way home. She has actually been wearing it now for nearly two weeks and she has been such a trooper. The only time it bothers her is when it is time for a bath. She can't get it wet at all so Jason wraps it up in a grocery bag (or "blanket" as she calls it) and then we hold it up as we wash around it in the tub. Not really an easy task. As for keeping it clean- good luck with that. This toddler is in to EVERYTHING so her cast it already pretty messy. Today her friends at school signed it though and she really liked that.

I have come to the conclusion that we have a Spring Break "curse". I mean you do remember LAST Spring Break when Isabel fractured her leg in the unfortuante slide accident. She didn't need an actual cast that time- but still... two breaks in two years?! Very stressful.
The day she got the cast- not so sure what she thinks about it
Isabel was offered ANY color cast. Naturally I wanted pink. But she said orange. Really?! Great. This will go so well with all of her outfits.
Still smiling- even with her "band aid"

Annie, I love reading about your family and all your adventures. Reading about Isabel (and Payton) gives me a 'baby fix' when it is definitely not time in our family for a baby (should I knock on wood?). If this is the best way for you to write about your family time, I think you will be very glad to have everything documented to look back on someday. And I think Isabel and her family will appreciate all your effort one day too.
