Isabel is wearing a dress my friend Stephanie bought her before she was even born. I think it is too cute- she looks like a little fashionista in it. The poor thing had to go through 3 or 4 wardrobe changes the other day while I tried to figure out what she should wear for her first professional pictures. I still haven't decided. Well, week 12 has been eventful. Isabel is growing (13 pounds!) and changing constantly. She is going to be around 8 or 9 each night and usually just waking once. On Thurs. morning she woke up with a pink, puffy eye and we took a trip to the pediatrician. She prescribed her some eye drops and we are supposed to watch it and administer the drops if it doesn't get better. It doesn't help that she is constantly sucking on her hands now and then rubbing her eyes. (Let me tell you- there always seems to be something new to worry about when you have a baby! Being a parent is stressful)
On Sunday we took Isabel to the St. Charles art fair. It was a beautiful afternoon to walk around. We also stopped by Zack and Mandy's for some cook-out food on Sunday night. Aunt Mandy is Isabel's favorite person right now. She gives her lots of smiles. On Monday I woke up feeling very dizzy, dehydrated and had a horrible stomach ache. We had to cancel our plans and I basically stayed on the couch all day. Jason played "Mr Mom" and he took very good care of both Isabel and I. Luckily today I am starting to feel better.

We are enjoying this week of nice weather- 80's and sunny! Taking long walks every afternoon and I am definitely ready for summer to be here. As a bonus- Isabel surprised me last night by sleeping almost 9 hours straight! She has been waking up multiple times a night for the last two weeks and I was at my wit's end. I think she knew I needed a little break. I won't count on it happening again just yet but it was still much appreciated.
We went to the GI specialist today. He didn't seem all that concerned with Bell's symptoms (even the small traces of blood in the stool) He did suggest we run a few tests to rule out anything serious but we got the impression that he thought she was just exhibiting typical fussy, sensitive, immature digestive system baby symptoms. He also wasn't surprised that the dairy elimination hadn't done much to help.
Jason and I are hesitant to have her get an upper GI test if she is developing normally and if the doctor isn't too concerned. We don't want to put her through unnecessary testing. On the other hand, we know from experience that sometimes you have to trust your gut and dig a little deeper to make sure that things are okay. We have to pray about this one because we are not sure what we will do next.
Okay... I had to include this hilarious picture. I found this hat at VonMaur when I was looking for a flower headband that my friend Megan's daughter had on in a picture. This hat however looks ridiculous. Jason said "no way" to buying it so I just took a picture of her with it on in the store!
To make matters worse, Isabel had all of her vaccines on Monday and was VERY unhappy for the next two days. She ran a fever, didn't sleep well and had some vomiting. Now she is seeming more like herself again but we seem to have lost all of the progress we made when it comes to sleeping at night. She is waking up again at least two times per night and her mommy is VERY tired. Let's hope that Week 11 goes much more smoothly.
